John Payne has been in the Journalism field for over 40 years.

A veteran of 40 years in journalism, John Payne is a former senior editor of L.A. Weekly and longtime contributor to magazines, newspapers and digital media web sites including the L.A. Times, Mojo, EQ, Drum!, Redbull and numerous others. He is the co-author of Jaki Liebezeit: Theory and Practice of a Master Drummer (Unbound, London 2019) and editor of the forthcoming The Chickens Have Come Home To Roost: Having My Say, A Historical Autobiography of Lawrence E. Walker.
